Prison Inmate Is ife Flighted BARNESVILLE DISPATCH DEVANE

A Georgia Department of Corrections spokesperson has confirmed a that an attack occurred Sunday night at the Georgia Diagnostic and Classification Center that resulted in serious injury to an inmate incarcerated there.
Initial reports suggested the inmate had been “shanked” and subsequently airlifted to an Atlanta hospital for treatment. Corrections spokesperson Gwendolyn Hogan issued the following statement Monday to Barnesville Dispatch:

“On April 15, 2012, an inmate was involved in a fight with an unidentified inmate at the Georgia Diagnostic & Classification Prison. The inmate was life flighted to a hospital for treatment of wounds sustained. Inmate is currently at hospital receiving treatment.”
